October

  • Bulb planting continues this month.

  • Geraniums and fuchsias to be over-wintered should be sprayed to eliminate bugs and brought indoors.

  • Cuttings can be taken at this time.

  • Dig your cannas, dahlias, gladiolus and tuberous begonias and store them properly for winter.

  • Evergreens, garlic, and shallots can be planted.  Bulbs for winter forcing should be potted this month and stored under cool conditions.
